But ... start with a compote of fresh oranges and marmalade, then proceed to Violet's own nut and grain muesli, then consider pancakes with maple syrup - that's the McKenna kids' choice - whilst the adults can't decide between potato cakes with smoked salmon, or maybe farmyard fresh eggs scrambled with chives, and all accompanied by beautiful fresh baked breads. Vernacular cooking raised to an art form, that's the Fortview breakfast, but it's also what Mrs Connell does with everything she puts her hand to in this most metic­ulous B&B. It's a dream destination in a dream location, a quintessential part of what makes West Cork West Cork.
